This file is part of the new and improved sync script for 
synchronizing files between export2 (internal) and export1
(outside the firewall).  This should gaurantee that the
filesystem is mounted internally before any attempt at
synchronizing to the outside world.  I thought a simple
file check may not be adequate as it seems previously when
the file system went offline it had cached directory
structures (and I presume file names as well - thus
the md5.)
