Also, all instruments now have the correct extensions associated with their respective data collection modules. Ambient air (007): ***NOTE: Any information relating to 007 up to 009j will be listed under the RGM section. NOTE: The truck was parked at the lab on 007j from 1819z - 1920z while I unloaded a large shipment of flasks. The truck was turned off during this time. Au cartridges and 2537A sample inlet filter on 007 were changed on 009j before the instrument was put back online for ambient air sampling. Instrument was put back online and resumed sampling on 009j at 1855z. Ambient air (012): 012 offline from 2013z - 2020z on 005j for Ar tank change: old tank off at 2015z (CC84715/AES707, 300psi) new tank on at 2017z (SA13103, 2100psi) NOTE: The truck was parked at the lab on 007j from 1819z - 1920z while I unloaded a large shipment of flasks. The truck was turned off during this time. On 008j, I noticed on arriving at the lab that 012 was continually returning values of 0.000 for GEM levels. I reset the instrument at 1518z, as a first effort to identify/correct this problem. After the instrument restarted, it became clear that there was a problem with the pump. After consultation with Sandy and Gabe (at Tekran), I replaced one of the pump brushes on the instrument. 012 was offline from approximately 1800z - 2025z to do this replacement. The other pump brush will be replaced ASAP. 012 was offline on 009j from 1649z - 1855z while I was installing 040 on the RGM system and 007 on ambient air (argon supply was off during this time). O.K. RGM Unit, 1130 0016, 2537A ***007/040***: 007 on idle from 2008z - 2013z on 005j for 1130 quartz sample filter change. 007 offline from 2013z - 2020z on 005j for Ar tank change: old tank off at 2015z (CC84715/AES707, 300psi) new tank on at 2017z (SA13103, 2100psi) RGM system was on zero air from 1819z - 1920z on 007j while a vehicle was parked at the lab to unload supplies (the truck was turned off during this time). 007 was taken offline on 009j at 1642z (to be moved to ambient air sampling while 040 was replaced on the RGM system). 040 was put back online on the RGM system and resumed sampling on 009j at 1855z. O.K. RDMQ 2002 QC completed on 007 and 012. 2003 QC for 007 and 012 complete up to 008j. Mercury Snow Sampling Experiment Shut down for season, tables in TX covered with dropsheets. Brewers Both Brewers were reset on 007j at 1850z; I suspect that there was another short power failure earlier in the day while DND electricians were working on the back-up generator. Big Pete is now here (who is actually really small to medium-sized Pete), and there are four PWGSC engineers here looking at the lab and the TX site. Pete is fitting in quite well, although he was shut-out in Bingo last night. That's okay - all the more for me to win! PS - I'm still working on the latest website update for all of my fans (I know there must be one or two out there!). That's all I have for now. Lates, --K Kevin Anderson Alert Baseline Operator From the Desk of Pete (the new Amanda): I'm somewhat finding my way around the base, and meeting the right people. The stories were true, the arctic is cold, and it's perpetual night here. Just need to hold out a few more weeks for the sunrise festival I guess. Here's to keeping the esteemed reputation of the Co-op student! Cheers, -Pete
