And still harassing people with phone calls at 3am!! Lates, --K Kevin Anderson Alert Baseline Operator From the Desk of Pete: Yes, this week saw the Gaw lab operators momentarily transform into Quizmasters during the wednesday night trivia show. My eruditic and curiously pedantic questions (as well as their enlightnening responses) crossed with Celine's quick and piercing wit made for high entertainment and praise, rivaling only the work of Kevin Anderson. As if that wasn't enough excitement for the week, I also served at the monthly Souper des Nobles where I enjoyed the finest salmon steak this side of the 82nd parallel. The farewell speeches were both touching and humorous, and made only more humorous after a few libations. Oh yes, of late I have been watching films to the 4th movement of Beethoven's Choral Symphony No.9 and seeing if they match up. So far, none have. Cheers! -Pete Celine's column (I wrote my column first!!) Pete, Michele and I debued as the Trivia hosts this past week, and Pete and I have been asked to return for a second show! It was great fun putting the questions together, and getting responses from the different houses. Everyone had a fun night, even the fish had visitors that evening as I had made one of the questions, "How many fish live in the GAW office?" We put the GAW on the map in Alert, although I think Kevin had done that already. Sunday, Michele and I went up to Crystal Mountain in a BV. This is an all terrain vehicle used on Base. Both of us were 'BV sick' by the end of the ride, but at least I collected a rock for my garden. It has been an interesting 6 weeks. I hope it has given me a good foundation to be the Arctic Coordinator. At least I can apprieciate what the operator does up here now... See you next week! Salut! Celine
