O.K. Ambient air (012): Discovered Hg computer was frozen on 131j (frozen since 129j); rebooted computer at 1342z. Noticed on 131j that the #1 flag had been constantly on for 012 data since doing manual injections on 119j; on closer inspection, discovered that all was normal on the hand controller (standard additions were set for every 33 cycles); after discussing with Gabe from Tekran, I unplugged the ribbon cable connecting the hand controller from the instrument and the #1 flag went away. I powered down and then re-powered the hand controller, and re-connected it to the instrument. On closer inspection of the data, it appears as though the standard additions were not actually taking place every run, even though the #1 flag was constantly on. 012 on idle from 1844z - 1914z on 133j for filter changes (Hg Zero filter , GEM inlet filter , 2537 inlet filter , and 2537 zero inlet filter ) DND burn (wood & cardboard) on 134j from 1700z - 2000z. DND burn (wood & cardboard) on 135j from 1200z - 1400z. Performed leak checks on 040 on 135j from 1730z - 1854z; discovered a noticeable leak appeared in the filter housing of the 1130 quartz sample filter - changed quartz sample filter and re-checked; leak appeared to have been stopped. O.K. RDMQ 2004 QC for 007 and 012 complete up to 060j Mercury Snow Sampling Experiment Last sample collected on 131j. Last blank on 096j. Particulate Mercury Samplers Shut down for season. It seems as though Wendy has been seeing enough sights for the both of us, of late. In some sad news, it seems that we've been losing goldfish at an alarming rate over the past few months - I think we've lost about four since I've been back from my vacation; which brings the count down to five goldfish and one guppy remaining (hint, hint, for anyone who is planning a trip to Alert in the next little while - we'll have to start re-stocking the fish for Maria's year). That's all for now. Lates, --K Kevin Anderson Alert Baseline Operator Hi The work is going well. I am learning a lot, but I still ask Kevin a lot of questions to make sure I do things the right way. The weather has been really nice, and there have been a lot of rec trips going out, and I try to go on as many as possible. All the girls went out to the Love Shack at Kirk Lake for a slumber party on Saturday night. Some of the guys showed up and crashed the party, but we didn't mind at all because they took us on a helicopter ride. My website got eliminated by the webserver for some unknown reason, but I'm going to try to get it up on again this week. Wendy Frise Assistant Baseline Operator
