It has been foggy and grey and snowing (although quite lightly) all week up here. At least the temperature isn't too bad (if you can call -10 for the month of May "not too bad" - which, for up here, you can!). The sun is just starting to peek out it's head today (Tuesday) for the first time in over a week! Just when all of the Ice Shelf/Green Ice project scientists are starting to leave, the weather starts looking nicer. Isn't it always the way. I wouldn't be surprised to see the ice open up and have thousands of frost flowers start "blooming", now that OOTI is over as well. That's Alert for you! BTW, you're going to read some stuff in Wendy's column about me going to the gym at 6:00 in the morning. I just want to say for the record that this is actually true - believe it or not! That's all for now. Lates, --K Kevin Anderson Alert Baseline Operator Hi, I'm starting to fit in around here, which makes it a lot easier to relax and have fun. This weekend I went on a rec trip with 10 others out to the ice caves, which are apparently much smaller than they used to be, but are still fantastic. Kev and I have been going to the gym at 6am almost every morning and we are planning a day-long hike on the weekend if the weather stays nice, so we are getting really buff (well, trying anyway). later Wendy Frise Assistant Baseline Operator
