Saturday and Sunday during the day there were activities held in the gym and linkway where all the different houses competed against each other. Saturday night, some of the houses put on skits in the Arctic Club and then a few brave people participated in an Alert Idol contest. Chad and one of the guys on station, Curtis played their guitars and sang Sweet Home Alabama- they were by far the best participants. Last night, the linkway was open for the mardi gras festival and we all wore masks and each house came up with a festive drink to serve in the hallway. Overall, it was a great weekend and I think our visitors are surprised by the social life in Alert! They definitley picked a great weekend to visit! Today, the senior NCO's are serving Thanksgiving dinner and then it will be an early night to bed- it's recovery time! Happy Thanksgiving! Take care, Maria Maria Vavro Alert Baseline Operator Good morrow! Well this weekend was tiring with lots of parties and loud people. Last night I was in bed by 11pm, but somehow I got woken up by somebody who dragged me back to the party. Needless to say I am tired today and can't wait for nap time tonight. At least for this holiday I was forewarned that I had to work it. The last holiday Maria and Celine told me I had to work monday at 1 am while we were at the love shack.GRRR Mardi Gras was cool. Lots of decorations and invested money. Anyway have a good day, we'll talk to yous next week. Chad Guertin, Assistant Baseline Operator
