BoxTop begins on Monday, so about 30 new personnel arrived throughout the week to help out with that. Sandy is due to arrive tomorrow and the rest of April looks like it will be busy with visitors. The warmer weather has arrived and I know I've been in Alert too long when I say one afternoon during some outdoor work in -20'C "God, it's boiling out today" and am forced to take off some layers to prevent overheating. The past two days the Secret Squirrely operations section of the main building (where our offices are also located) had its power shut off for maintenance work and therefore all communications to and from the station were also down. We are hoping by the end of today that internet will be restored. It's funny how accustomed you get to using email and the internet to communicate- we seem to be getting more and more desperate to get the internet back up after only one day without it and not even worrying too much about the phone lines. Well, on a funnier note... Frank and I attended the HOC mug-in and meeting last night and we tied for the "useless tool" award. These are the people you hired! After asking Frank if he'd like to add his own weekly update, he says he would, but he doesn't know how to write... high quality Masters student's these days... haha.. It looks like we are both back in the Alert mode and laughing at things that aren't really that funny. Hope all is well in Downsview, Maria Maria Vavro GAW Lab Operator
