She arrived two hours late today, so it looks doubtful that they'll even bring her by, but here we are anyway. The CO and SWO are so stressed and hyper today it's actually pretty entertaining. We are all sitting down to a somewhat formal supper tonight and then a little meet and greet is scheduled afterwards. She's here for less than 24 hours, but before departing she will present the medals to departing personnel at the parade tomorrow morning. Earlier in the week, they actually practiced the honour guard and parade steps, so there may be a good chance that no one will screw up for the first time in Alert history - maybe, we'll find out tomorrow. Her and her entourage were scheduled to take a helicopter trip to the BoxTop 22 crash site this afternoon, but as usual, nothing in Alert happens as plans and the helicopters have yet to even arrive so that's definitely not going to happen. Other than that, the weather is beautiful here and things are basically going well. Tom and Mike are here working on the Brewers and will probably get out after 1 week instead of being here for 2 weeks thanks to the sunny weather. The GMC now has its tires back on it and it's SO NICE to be able to get out to the lab in 5 minutes instead of 20 minutes. Frank will be out of here in a week and a half, which means that this TGIF I'll be saying goodbye to him - I'll have to brainstorm and think of something funny and embarrasing to say about him! Well, I guess that's the week's update... Hope all is well in Downsview, Maria Maria Vavro GAW Lab Operator
