Sunday September 3, 2006 - Saturday September 9, 2006 Prepared: September 9, 2006 ***********Highlights of the Week*************** - 247j APU generator running for its monthly maintenance from 1500z to 2130z. Lab power got transeferred to the generator at 1826z causing a power outage of about 40 sec. NDIR pump did not restart; working on it from 1829Z to 1833z, ok. - 247j Toxics pump malfunctioning. At around 0110z I noticed a burning smell in the area. After looking around I found the Toxics pump up in the tower off and the breaker thrown to the off position. I restarted the pump to check one more time and as I was going up the tower I noticed the motor working extra hard, I noticed the burning smell and the breaker was thrown off again. Investigating for possible block in lines. - 250j Toxics pump replaced and sampling resumed at 2149z - 251j Generator at TX site running from 1430z to 0430z (approx. 14 hours) in order to avoid fuel spillage. I am pretty sure for Gabe has been crazy as well who is very excited to get here (I assume, or hope). Everybody's schedule has been thrown off routine because of the expected beginning of Box Top, which at the end has been delayed until tonight. Gabe's plane was supposed to arrive last tuesday, but it was moved until next wednesday and now is arriving tonight at 8:00 pm, sorry 4:00 am. I just heard a pipe and is supposed to arrive at 2:00 am. Give me 5 minutes and I'll give you a different schedule. Everything got worse after a fuel spill on friday evening that wasted over 22,500 liters of aviation fuel. At the moment there are shift workers 24 hours a day to clean the mess. The good news: the lab is still in one piece. Lee
