The following was changed: Sample line filter Zero air filter RPF: Out 'E', In 'B' Denuder: Out AL200, In PCG555 Impactor Frit flip *149j 14:44z-16:00z. Argon tank change [Out: 250psi, In: 2600psi] and inspected all connections (in & out of the lab) to ensure they had ferrules. None were missing. Hooked up Zero Air Out from 1130 (Past the tee) to the sample inlet of the 2537, with zero air on to test zero air generator. 16:47z-17:46z. Tested whole system with zero air from 16:47z-17:46z. 17:46z-17:51z. Ran Desorb. Felt/heard some pressure on thumb at the impactor outside, though very weak still. Put back on regular sampling afterwards. *150j 13:05z-13:25z. Idle. 13:25z-13:58z. Zero air ON and Run OFF; flushed the whole system with zero air to see what the readings were. 13:58z-14:03z. Idle. 14:03z-14:36z. Leak Test 1. Did not reach zero. 14:36z-14:52z. Idle. 14:52z-15:17z. Leak Test 1 again; found a ferrule was missing on the line hooked up to test for leaks. Results still not reading zero. 15:17z-15:25z. Idle. 15:25z-16:00z. Back to standard setup outside, but testing zero air generator by connecting line from Zero Air Out @ 1130 pump unit to Sample Air In filter @ 2537A. Not reaching zero. 16:00z. Found line had been loose and sampling inside air from 15:25z-16:00z. Tightened all fittings. 16:00z-16:28z. Retested zero air generator, but still not reaching zero. 16:28z-16:58z. Turned on Desorb with same setup. Still not reaching zero. 17:04z. Back to regular setup/sampling. *151j 13:46z-13:56z. RGM Idle; took pictures of how Zero Air generator test from previous day was set up. 13:56z-14:35z. Zero Air + Prog-Run off for new setup of zero air gen test. 14:56z. Back pressure regualtor flow found to be too low (~2 LPM). Adjusted zero air out flow to 7 LPM 15:08z-15:31z. Connected tee betweren zero air out and sample inlet for zero air generator test. Reached zero. 15:37z-15:56z. Reconnected all inside fittings, and performed Leak Test 1. Not zero. Found loose fitting on "zero air out" of 1130. Tightened, and continued Leak Test 1. 15:56z-16:15z. Continued Leak Test 1 from above with tightened fitting. Still not zero. 16:15z-16:31z. Removed Soda Lime Trap line and replaced with a clean line. Reached zero. 16:33z-16:54z. Reconnected and tightened Soda Lime Trap line and fittings. Still failed. 16:54z-17:15z. Removed Soda Lime Trap line again, and continued on with leak testing. Redid Leak Test 1, and reached zero again. 17:26z-18:28z. Performed Leak Test 2; zero air going through all of outside except RPF, and the teflon line past the RPF towards the sample line filter. Could feel pressure buildup from impactor much better than days previous. 18:28z-19:10z. Turned on Denuder heating, while keeping desorb + zero air on. 19:10z-19:28z. Turned off Denuder heating, continued desorb + zero air on for Leak Test 2. 19:28z-19:53z. Turned on Denuder cooling, and began installing teflon line between solenoid valve and impactor. 19:53z-21:09z. Finished installation of the teflon line from solenoid valve to impactor. Very high Areas/concentrations from using teflon line. 21:20z. Hooked up brass tubing again, turned on denuder heating/cooling to auto, kept desorb/zero air on, and let run overnight. Broken Denuder found when unhooking teflon tubing between solenoid valve and impactor -> cause of high Area counts undoubtedly. Replaced denuder and left brass tubing on to see if zero is reached overnight. *152j 16:27z-16:55z. Installed line from zero air filter to the impactor. Area values jumped up noticably. 16:55z-17:19z. Changed the fitting on the line where it connects to the zero air filter, hoping to see a drop in Area. No change. 17:37z-18:15z. Ran line from past the solenoid valve back into the sample line filter. Area count drops, but doesn't reach zero. 18:15z-18:28z. Installed a new solenoid valve. 18:28z-15:53z. Kept previous setup, where line goes from past solenoid valve back to the sample line filter. No noticeable difference between either solenoid valve in terms of area values. 18:53z-18:58z. Kept new solenoid valve on, and hooked system back up so that it running Leak Test 2 again. Left running overnight with zero air, desorb, and denuder heating/cooling ON.
