SOS'95 Surface Met Documentation Site Names: Dickson (DIK) Hendersonville (HEN) Youth Inc (YOU) File Convention: Filename: site acronym, year,Julian day, hour (GMT),"P" for processed. example: YOU96215.02P The filename represents the end of the hour (i.e. YOU96215.02P represents data collected during the hour 01 GMT). The files are hour files of one-minute averaged data. Each file contains one header line which occurs every new hour. This line will NOT be at the beginning of each file because the communications computer calls the met tower after the hour (after RASS has completed its 5-min sampling) and dumps all uncollected data from the weather tower. The header line is of the form: id,year,Julian day example: 108,1996,215 There are sixty data lines per hour, each representing the one-minute averages. The hour-minute stamp marks the end of the one-minute averaged period. Each data line format is as follows: id,hour-minute (GMT),pressure (mb),temperature(C),wind speed(m/s),wind direction, solar rad (W/m**2), net rad (W/m**2), RH(%), datalogger battery voltage (V). example: 80,1802,764.32,23.56,3.45,345.912,760.521,480.44,98.9,13.4 All variables are comma delineated, and the format is not fixed. **Note: Pressure at all sites had intermittent problems; met at YOU was on a 70' scaffold.
