Alert Weekly News

Hey this is just like old times, writing the weekly report and all. Is anyone else feeling nostalgic? No?? Yeah, me neither. I got the truck stuck on top of a snowdrift on Friday. That was the second time I've ever been stuck on tracks, and it happened in my first 2 minutes driving the new truck. But it's OK, we got off. Also on Friday, the plane left with both John and Maria. Maybe that should have been my first piece of news, but getting the truck stuck was pretty funny. In other news, Da Ali G show made it's Alert premiere on Friday evening. If you don't know what I'm talking about, you owe it yourself to find out. And now, I will start my countdown can begin. 31 days!!

Tim Christie
Alert Baseline Operator (temp)

Good Morning,

First of all I must thank John Deary for helping me with my setup over the past week. It's always nice to be accompanied with someone who has over 30 years experience in the Arctic. Everyone around the station is missing Maria already....I bet she doesn't miss anyone at all! My study is officially underway without mention of a few problems with the Tekrans but nothing out of the ordinary. There was an incident that happened at the SST last week and a very odiferous smell still remains. Maybe ask John what he thinks about it. Anyway folks, that's all for now and I hope I have better stories to pass on in the near future.
