Collection time: ~1200Z
Location: bamboo flag poles just SE of MSF (see included photo of rime/frost accumulation on flag).
Description: This was an attempt to photograph the very thick frost formation that occurred overnight.
The frost was many inches thick, growing on the windward side of many objects around the station, and covering the snow surface as well.
There seemed to be a rime layer at the very base, but most of the formation was definitely hoar frost.
It was very difficult to prevent the frost from melting the instant it was on the slide....I needed to be out collecting earlier in the morning.
