SCS is the Ship's Computer System data. The ship's Survey Tech activates this system at the start of the Cruise. Prior to this data requests from the scientists are used to generate specific data sets that will be created. In the case of ESRL/PSD, we have a standard format used over and over again for any cruise we are on.
